Staffordshire Heritage Group invites you to an afternoon in the historic village of Abbots Bromley,
home of the famous horn dance
.

On Saturday 4th July 2026 at 2pm

Venue - The Crown, Market Place, Abbots Bromley.  WS15 3BS
Starting with a guided tour around this lovely village to view its Butter Cross, main street historic buildings, and the 11th century St Nicholas Church displaying the reindeer antlers, symbols of the horn dance   
We return to the friendly Crown pub for a chance to meet with other SHG members their friends and family
Over a free savoury & sweet light buffet. 
The bar will be available to purchase soft and alcoholic drinks.   
 Raffle prizes, books and county flags for sale

The Asylum Project
A talk by Cathy Turner
 An Introduction in Victorian Asylum in Stafford
Funded by Staffordshire Archives and Heritage, alongside partners the Wellcome Trust,
The project focused on the patient experience as the volunteers recorded names from case records from the period 1818-1920 and sometimes photographs .The major research resource produced by the
project was a database of information extracted from the case notes that can be used for medical and social history research.
Cathy will talk about her input  in working on this project and her own
experience  of working in a Victorian Asylum .
